Belzona 2141, A flexible cavitation and abrasion resistant polyurethane elastomer for the coating of metal and rubber components.

Belzona 2141

Overview

This is a two-component polyurea resin designed for coating metal and rubber components. This flexible elastomeric material is ideally suited for coating areas subject to extremely high localised pressures where resistance to wear, cavitation, erosion and corrosion is required. This material, supplied in liquid form, can be easily mixed and applied without the need for specialised equipment, and cures at room temperature, thereby completely eliminating the need for hot application.

Benefits

Cavitation Resistant

Engineered to resist cavitation damage at ultra-high velocities

Erosion Corrosion Resistance

Protects against erosion and corrosive attack

Cold Curing

Cures at room temperature with no hot work or vulcanisation

Multi-Substrate Adhesion

Bonds to natural rubber, nitrile, neoprene, SBR, polyurethane, PVC, steel, copper and concrete

Long-Term Immersion

Meets ASTM D3623 requirements for cathodic disbondment in immersed service

100% Solids

No solvents, no shrinkage during cure

Applications

Application Areas
Shafts, Rudders and Stern Tubes

Repair and protection against damage caused by wear, corrosion and friction.

Stern Nozzle and Bow Thruster Systems

Repair of metal loss caused by cavitation, erosion and the effects of seawater.

Valves

Repair and protection of worn and corroded valve bodies and sealing surfaces.

Pipe Circuits

Repair of damage caused by wear, corrosion and erosion resulting from seawater and process fluids, and protection of surfaces.
