Belzona 1311 A ceramic filled epoxy-based composite for metal repair and erosion and corrosion protection.

Belzona 1311

Overview

This is a two-component, epoxy-based repair composite designed to provide protection against the effects of cavitation, erosion and corrosion during metal repairs. With a 100 per cent solids (solvent-free) formulation, this repair material offers excellent chemical resistance and adheres with superior strength to all metals and many other hard surfaces. It can be easily mixed and applied without the need for specialised tools, and as it cures at room temperature, it completely eliminates the need for hot work (such as welding). To ensure long-term performance, it provides an ideal substrate for the application of Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal) coating.

Belzona 1311 can also be used as a high-strength structural adhesive for metal bonding applications and for creating irregular load-bearing shims.

Benefits

Erosion Resistant

Outstanding resistance to erosion damage in flowing fluid and abrasive environments

Corrosion Resistance

Outstanding resistance to corrosion in salt spray and chemical environments

Chemical Resistance

Excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals including aqueous solutions, hydrocarbons, and process chemicals

Solvent Free

100% solids formulation reduces health and safety risks in confined spaces with no shrinkage on cure

Excellent Adhesion

Bonds strongly to virtually any rigid surface

Applications

Application Areas
Pump Refurbishment

Repair of pump impellers damaged by erosion and corrosion.

Cooler Covers and Plates

Filling of corrosion pitting and surface levelling on cooler covers and plates.

Propulsion and Manoeuvring Systems

Repair of propeller blades, rudders, stern tube, bow thruster housing and tunnels damaged by cavitation and erosion.

Seawater Systems

Repair of seawater circuits, pipe elbows and sea chests affected by cavitation.

Structural Bonding

High-strength cold bonding of metal components.

Hull and Side Repairs

Structural repair of abrasion-induced wear, mechanical damage and localised corrosion areas on the hull sides.
